Olivier Xhaet

Cardiologist – electrophysiologist
Consultant, CHU UCL Namur — Godinne · Lecturer, UCLouvain

I’m a cardiologist specialised in cardiac electrophysiology — the study and treatment of heart-rhythm disorders. A consultant at CHU UCL Namur (Godinne site) and a lecturer at UCLouvain, I divide my time between clinical practice, teaching and research.

A cardiology graduate with the highest distinction and the jury’s congratulations, and winner of the Chapman Prize for the best graduation thesis, I trained in electrophysiology during a one-year fellowship at Haut-Lévêque Hospital in Bordeaux, in the department of Prof. Michel Haïssaguerre — a worldwide reference in the field. I have taught the ECG and electrophysiology at the UNamur faculty of medicine since 2019, and I’m the author of numerous publications, with many clinical trials, several as principal investigator.

The CardiOX project

I built CardiOX to extend this practice: making electrophysiology clear and sourced, and sharing the tools and method (Obsidian + Zotero) that turn every reading into durable knowledge.
